How You Can Workout Without Weights from Home

January 4th, 2010 Steve No comments

Heyo! For anyone new to my site, my name’s Steve, and I created this blog to talk about working out and how you can workout without weights. Also, how I think it’s a far superior alternative to typical gym membership, and where you can find some great “workout without weights” exercises that you can use in the comfort of your home.

If you are interested in my experience, read on to see all the different methods I’ve used over the years to try to get ripped, and how I finally discovered working out without weights and how it gave me the best workout I’ve ever had!

Or… Click here to see the workout without weights program that I use.

When I got my first gym membership I liked it at first… liked the atmosphere there… liked the fact that I had a range of dumbbells and barbells… machines etc… and I felt good that I was pumping some real weight. I stayed there for a couple years actually… and then I just started to get incredibly bored with my workouts… I started to hate working out. Everything was the same… up and down, up and down… lifting some giant piece of metal… it was tedious and I hated it.

Then… what really changed everything… the movie 300 came out. Like MANY other people, I started to try to find out what the 300 workout was… what those guys did to get so damn ripped. It was really fascinating what these guys did… totally unconventional exercises… exercises that got multiple muscle groups working in unison and gave the whole body an incredible workout… and they used a LOT of workout exercises without weights.

I learned that they actually implemented a lot of gymnastics exercises… using gymnastics rings (great for stabilizing muscles)… and just all sorts of stuff. Ever see a ripped gymnast? A lot of those guys workout without weights… yes… completely bodyweight exercises. I don’t think anyone would disagree that most gymnasts are damn ripped. So I read and I read… educated myself more and more… learned about different exercises I could do etc… but then I came to a point where I wasn’t sure what to do.

I had a few good exercises without weights to do… but no structure… no routine… I wasn’t really sure where to go from there.

Then I came across this website which completely changed everything… an incredible workout without weights website, with plenty of exercises I could do AT HOME, with no equipment, and without a gym membership.

I implemented what I learned straight away, and I LOVED it. Finally… some diversity in my workouts. And I could feel what an incredible and intense workout I was getting. I couldn’t believe it… all this was possible WITHOUT weights… without a bulky expensive machine… and without a gym membership. What’s ever better is I wasn’t putting crazy stress on my joints by lifting 200 lb barbells over my head (for anyone who is unaware… this is NOT good for your joints… and some people go WAY heavier than just 200 lbs).

I got leaner… I got fit… and I often amaze people with my strength, hehe. I’m not overly bulky, but because of the workouts I do that give me real world strength, I pack in more muscle than shows… people are often AMAZED by how strong I am.

Ok, now a couple of words of advice to those of you reading this. Yes… this is an incredible program, but you have to actually DO it to get the benefit out of it. This isn’t some program which will get you ripped in 5 minutes a day… you’re still gonna have to work hard.

Also, diet is KEY. You’re not gonna be super lean if you constantly eat junk food or just have a horrible diet. So eat well, work hard, implement this program, and get strong and fit with these incredible bodyweight exercises.

Old Fashioned Hardcore Workouts Without Weights

December 21st, 2009 Steve 1 comment

Hey what’s up. So here we go with my second workout without weights post.

So like I said, the more I thought about it, the more going to a gym and pushing some piece of iron up and down seemed like such a meathead thing to do (sorry if I’ve insulted anyone, hehe… but hey I used to do the same thing).

Think back to say before the 1950’s (I don’t know when exactly man started doing traditional workouts, but I think it was somewhere around that time). Did people get fit and muscular by doing bench presses and bicep curls? Did the Greeks in 300 BC get their “Greek God” bodies by doing these types of workouts? Of course not! They got sculpted and ripped, and got “real-world” strength by getting a REAL full body workout. And think these guys weren’t ripped and cut? Go check out any museum with sculptures from the time period… those are some RIPPED guys with some damn incredible bodies. The term “Greek God” is used to describe a certain body type for a reason.

You know what really set me off though? When I started reading about the “300 workout”. You know the movie 300 (yes… coincidentally they were portraying Greeks, hehe)? Ya… well the workouts those guys did to get in shape for the movie. Guess what? Most definitely NOT a typical gym workout, or anything resembling one. No… these guys implemented some old fashioned hardcore workout exercises… and lots of workouts without weights and exercises without weights. They implemented some very unconventional exercises… exercises which would isolate all those little stabilizing muscles you have… exercises which would get muscle groups working in unison… like they do in the REAL WORLD.

What’s so funny about this too is that after the movie came out, everyone wanted a body like the 300 guys. This was seen as an ideal body type to many, and it was done WITHOUT the typical gym workout that most people do.

People underestimate the good old pushup or chinup… these are not useless exercises… and there are MANY variations of each you can incorporate into your workouts without weights.

Am I saying just do pushups and chinups? Of course not… you have WAY more options than you may think you do… and you can get ripped and get practical real world strength at the same time.

That does it for this post… stay tuned for more of my workout without weights blog!
